WELCOME TO SPRING QUARTER OF THE 2011–2012 SCHOOL YEAR!

As the end of another successful school year approaches, the staff at Davis Adult
School wants to express our appreciation for each of you, our clientele. Without your enthusiasm for our classes, we would not exist.

You will find a variety of Spring Quarter classes in the following pages, most of which were listed in the fall and winter brochures. Please help yourself and enjoy new friendships and an opportunity to learn a new skill or practice an old one.

In response to many requests that come to us each May and June, we have added a small selection of summer classes. Eight classes will be offered during the month of July, either once or twice a week. Many of the classes will be taught at the Da Vinci Charter Academy, Valley Oak campus. This is an experiment that we hope will become a tradition! Please take a look at the selection toward the end of this brochure and register early. Because our office closes mid-June, registration will be available on-line only after Thursday, June 14.

Our English Learner classes (ESL) have thrived this quarter with the institution of a $25 registration fee. Our students are focused and attend regularly. This small fee has helped stabilize our adult English Learner program. Whatever your level of English, you are welcome to join one or more of our classes. Please come into the office if you are registering for the first time so that we are able to converse with you.

If you are the parent of a preschool child and are looking for a preschool where you can have a voice in the day-to-day operations, look no further. Davis Parent Nursery School (DPNS) has deep community roots, play-based learning, and a parent education component that is designed to support families through the early childhood years. There is more information, including contact phone numbers, toward the end of the brochure.

This year we have partnered with Boston Reed College to offer several exciting career training programs, including pharmacy and clinical medical assistant. You can find details toward the end of the brochure under Career Technical Education.
