Access - 5 weeks

$45 tuition/quarter

Access is a powerful database program that is used to store small to large quantities of information. This class will introduce the basic database concepts and terminology using the Microsoft Access Database software program. Students will learn how to create and maintain a database, add tables, and analyze data using filters, sorts and queries. Lecture, demonstration and in-class exercises will allow students to practice concepts learned in class.

Adobe InDesign - 5 weeks

$45 tuition/quarter
InDesign, version CS3, is a professional-grade page layout application, and an industry standard. Topics will include document creation and organization, importing text and graphics, basic design skills, formatting text and graphics, and printing. Students will create several assigned documents during the course, to be reviewed supportively in class. Instructor will also give attention to student’s individual projects.

Computer Introduction
10 weeks

$80 tuition/quarter
A beginning, hands-on course in how to use Windows PC and software applications. Students will learn yoga based stretching activities and work habits to help prevent or relieve computer related stress. Basic file and disk management will be demonstrated and practiced. Text editing with Notepad and Wordpad software will be used for composing. Loading music and movies can make the computer experience more enjoyable.

Data Management - 5 weeks

$45 tuition/quarter
Learn to use Microsoft Access and Excel in collaboration, utilizing each for the purpose to which it is best suited. Access is suited for managing data; organizing, searching, and multiple simultaneous users. Excel is better for analyzing complex calculations, “What if” analysis, and producing high quality charts. If you store your data by using Access and analyze it by using Excel, you will gain the benefits of both programs.

Digital Photography with Adobe Photoshop

7 weeks Winter

If you know the basics of digital imaging and camera use but want to do more with your photographs, this is the class for you. Students will learn to maximize all that the digital camera can deliver. Adobe Photoshop 7 and CS2 will be used to optimize digital images, including processing raw images. Students should bring printed materials, photos, and digital or film camera for use in class assignments and projects. Mr. Hamilton is well known locally for his artistic and professional digital photography.

Excel - 5 weeks

$45 tuition/quarter
Microsoft Excel should be part of any resume including entry level job applications. Join this short class to learn one of the most powerful and popular spreadsheets available. This class is ideal for people new to Excel or for those who have limited experience and want a better understanding of basic spreadsheet concepts. In this hands-on class, we will explore the fundamental operations of Excel.

Excel Advanced - 5 weeks

$45 tuition/quarter
This course will teach advanced features and functions of Excel. Students will learn how to create functions, export/ import data, perform what-if analyses, and record and run macros. Understanding VLOOKUP, INDEX, and Excel’s other time-saving functions will help students take their Excel skills to the next level. Class prerequisite is a fundamental understanding of basic level Excel.

How to Use Your Digital Camera 10 weeks

$85 tuition/quarter
Do you have a digital SLR camera that you use as a point and shoot? In this course students will learn various functions such as portrait, macro, landscape, and action. Students will learn about the importance of white balance and how to take a great photograph that does not require
computer enhancement. The concepts taught by Mr. Liu will support an easy transition into Digital Photography with Adobe Photoshop. This class has been requested by many students so sign up early!

Publisher - 5 weeks

$45 tuition/quarter
Microsoft Publisher is a consumer-oriented page layout program. Students will need to have only basic computer skills in order to benefit from this class. Topics will include document creation, importing text and graphics, and formatting text. Students will create several documents including brochures and greeting cards. This is a good introductory class for publications and can lead nicely into Adobe InDesign.

Website Design - 7 weeks

$65 tuition/quarter
Come learn the basics of website design. Students will design basic web pages, link pages together to make basic websites, set up an account with an internet service provider, and upload their pages to make them available on the world wide web. Students will also learn how to design pages for wiki and blog sites, which are among the new, interactive and collaborative types of websites.
