Pilates - 5 weeks

$50 tuition
Pilates will help students gain strength in muscles and increase flexibility. You will learn proper postural and breathing techniques. Although this class is geared towards those with little to no experience with Pilates, all levels are welcome. Please bring your own mat. No class on July 3.

Salsa Dancing - 4 weeks

$60 tuition
This class will teach the basic fundamental steps and footwork of salsa dancing. It will also teach more intricate patterns, body movements, and styling to students with some salsa experience.

Tai Chi - 4 weeks

Tai Chi forms are a choreographed meditation on the function and practical use of the human body. Studies show it helps reduce stress and high blood pressure, and improves balance. Janny Wu is an expert in Tai Chi and has experience teaching students of all ages and abilities.

Yoga - Beginning - 4 weeks

$50 tuition
This class introduces the student to yoga practice, including basic breathing exercises, postures, and relaxation techniques. Emphasis is on body alignment, flexibility, balance, breathing and body awareness. It is a gentle, slow-paced class for both men and women with a goal to improve flexibility and balance and to reduce stiffness. Please bring your own yoga mat (must have), and two yoga blocks and a strap (if possible).

Zumba is a fun and simple fitness class that uses high energy Latin/International music and easy to follow dance moves to utilize the principles of aerobic fitness, interval training and resistance training. With a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body, Zumba is the “feel-happy” workout you have been looking for!

Foreign Languages

 

French Conversation Beginning - 4 weeks

$60 tuition
This class is for students with no previous knowledge of French or for those who need a refresher. In addition to a brief overview of the French sound system, teaching focuses on practical vocabulary appropriate for basic interaction in French-speaking countries. Basic grammar will be introduced, including articles, gender, adjectives, numbers, and present tense verbs.

Spanish Conversation - Beginning - 4 weeks

$85 tuition
This introductory class assumes no previous knowledge. The basic drills and concepts acquired will serve as a foundation from which fluency will be developed. Class time instruction will focus on the development of listening and speaking skills. Take home reading and writing assignments will be reviewed to assess understanding.

This class is for beginning to advanced beading students. Students will receive group and individual instruction in beading techniques as well as in design and color theory, and can work on any object of their choice. Students will be responsible for their own supplies. Many economical resources will be offered.

Adobe Photoshop Funhouse! - 4 weeks

$85 tuition
Bring in your own Mac or PC laptop with Adobe Photoshop
and learn how to make the most of this fantastic image editing software. We will cover the few basic tools and techniques for creative and artistic manipulation of photos and artwork, along with a little technical information about image resolution, color space, and file formats.

Reading and Writing for Advanced English Learners -
4 weeks

Advanced English learners often ask for a class that is focused on literacy skills; that is, reading and writing skills. This class will provide students with the opportunity to read, discuss and write. Different styles of writing will be explored. Students will learn how to edit written work.
