Computer Lab Rules and Procedures dated 10/5/96
Rules:
Computers need to be secure:
- Enter and Exit the lab through the library door only!!
Computers don't like dirt:
- Always wipe your feet when you enter the lab.
- Make sure your hands are clean before you come to the
lab.
- No food or drink in the lab.
Computers are fragile:
- Before you move your chair or change places with a partner,
remove your headphones and set them on the CPU.
- Keep your mouse on the mousepad -- mice are very susceptible
to falls.
- Do not turn your computer off -- power surges can damage components.
- Do not bring magnets into the lab -- it can damage stored information.
Your ears are fragile:
- Before you start your program, Always !!!
Ctrl/Esc and check the task bar for two things:
- Volume -- adjust it.
- Programs left Running --Close them!
Procedures:
Lights go out?
- Please take your ear phones off.
Does your partner need help?
- Please don't move the mouse or touch the keyboard without their permission. Tell them what to do.
Really need help?
- Put the green cup on top of your monitor and wait patiently.
Done?
- Please close your program and return to icon-menu screen.
Can't close your program?
- Find the How To Quit chart on the wall.
Straighten up your Computer Lab:
- Straighten the keyboard and mouse.
- Scoot wheeled chairs up under the desks.
- Stack the blue chairs.
