Welcome to the Birch Lane Library!

Our school has an extensive library program and we hope students will visit the library often. Each class has a weekly, regularly scheduled library time.  Primary students take part in a rich, literature based program where they are exposed to some of the best new books, award winning books, and authors and illustrators.  The intermediate grades meet weekly with a credentialed Teacher Librarian for an information literacy program consisting of internet skills, research strategies, and literature based projects.  The library offers many reading incentive programs such as the California Young Reader Medal Program, Third Grade Battle of the Books, and the Intermediate Grades Battle of the Books.  The library also hosts a Book Fair during fall and spring parent conference weeks.

The library opens at 8:10 a.m. each morning and closes at 3:15 p.m., except on early dismissal days when it closes at 1:45 p.m.
