Welcome!  

       We are a Montessori kindergarten/first grade class at Birch Lane School, a public school in Davis, California.     Peek around our site for more about us and Montessori.  Please look at the "Students at Work" page for pictures and my perspectives on our class.   Also there are 'historical' notes about our year.     

      Montessori is a district program which parents may choose, which is housed at Birch Lane Elementary School.   We have 7 multi-age Montessori classes for Kindergarten through 6th grade students.  Students are registered in March for the following fall.

Childhood is a journey not a race.

 

Our last years class made a beautiful quilt and showed it at the Yolo County Fair.   We received blue ribbons.   Here is a picture of it.   Check out the Sewing and Quilts page for other class made quilts.
