Intra/Interdistrict Enrollment

Intradistrict Transfers (in-district) Interdistrict Transfers (out-of-district)

Intradistrict Transfers (transferring to another school within DJUSD)

The Board of Education desires to provide enrollment options that meet the diverse needs and interests of students.  The Superintendent or designee shall establish procedures for the selection and transfer of district students among district schools in accordance with law, board policy and administrative regulation.

Priority for Intradistrict Transfers shall be as follows:

  1. Students who want to transfer to their neighborhood/boundary school.
  2. Siblings of students currently in attendance at the requested school.
  3. Students whose parent/guardian works for DJUSD.
  4. New request to transfer to a non-boundary school.

Intra-district Request Form

Click here for the Intra-district Transfer Request Application 2018-19.

Intra-district Transfer Request Applications for the 2018-19 school year will be accepted February 9, 2018 to March 23, 2018.

The Davis Joint Unified School District offers parents of elementary and junior high school students the option of requesting a new placement for their children other than their neighborhood/boundary school.  Requests to transfer to another school are approved  based upon space availability in the requested grade at the requested school.

  • The deadline to submit an Intra-district Transfer Request application for the 2018-19 school year is March 23, 2018.  Application forms may be submitted to the Student Support Services Department at the District Office located at 526 B Street.

Parents/Guardians will be notified by mail no earlier than June 30th as to whether the transfer request is approved or if the child has been placed on a "Wait List" due to no space availability in the requested grade at the requested school.

Preparation for Sixth Graders Moving to Seventh Grade

All Sixth grade students will be assigned to the 'feeder' junior high school as follows:

  • Patwin and Willett go to Emerson
  • Birch Lane and North Davis go to Holmes
  • Korematsu, Montgomery, and Pioneer go to Harper
  • Cesar Chavez goes to Emerson

Students wishing to attend a junior high other than the 'feeder' junior high school need to go through the Intradistrict Transfer Request process.

All AIM transfer requests must contact Instructional Services - AIM@djusd.net

Interdistrict Transfer Requests (from out-of-district)

The deadline to submit a new Interdistrict Transfer request for the 2018-2019 school year is September 30, 2018 (please NOTE: this deadline does not apply to students currently enrolled in DJUSD.  Currently enrolled students who move out of Davis must apply for an Interdistrict Transfer in order to remain enrolled in DJUSD.  The Interdistrict Transfer process starts at the District Office in the district of residence).

DJUSD will accept Interdistrict Transfer applications beginning March 1, 2018 for the 2018-19 school year.

Parents/Guardians need to start the Interdistrict Transfer request (IDT) process at the district office in their district of residence.  If the district of residence approves the Interdistrict Transfer request, the IDT is sent to the DJUSD Student Support Services Department.

NEW Interdistrict Transfer requests are approved by DJUSD based upon space availability. Parents/Guardians must keep their child enrolled in their district of residence until DJUSD approves the transfer request.

Transfer requests will be reviewed May-October on the basis of space availability in the requested grade level.  Parents will be notified by mail no later than November 10, 2018 whether there is space during the 2018-19 school year.

Please note: Grades 7-12 remain impacted and space availability in 2018-19 school year is unlikely for students not currently enrolled in DJUSD.

For Davis residents who would like to transfer their child out of Davis to another school district, please contact Erin Grey-Merritt in the Student Support Services Department at 530 757-5300, ext 140.
