Mental Health and Wellness

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a national observance started in 1949 by Mental Health America to bring attention to the importance of mental wellbeing.
No one should ever struggle alone.
Everyone goes through rough periods, so it’s important to take care of yourself and have healthy coping tools on standby to use when times get tough. Learn how to take action to improve your personal mental health or as part of the larger mental health movement with this action guide by Mental Health America.

Working on your mental health takes time. Change won’t happen overnight. Instead, by focusing on small changes, you can move through the stressors of modern life and develop long-term strategies to support yourself — and others — on an ongoing basis.

Unsure where to start? Here are 5 simple things you can do for your mental health today:

1. Make a list of 5 things you’re grateful for today.

2. Practice positive affirmations.

3. Start a conversation about mental health.

4. Stay hydrated!

5. Take a break from screens.

This Mental Health Month, prioritize yourself and explore the resources that can help you build resilience, manage challenges, and thrive. Make the time to care for your mental health.
