Parent Empowerment Program (PEP)

The DJUSD Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) Talks are monthly virtual webinars for parents and guardians presented by local community organizations.

PEP Talks are held virtually the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6:00-7:30pm. Pre-registration required. Language interpretation available.


April PEP Talk - Understanding Sexual Assault and Supporting Students

April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAM). In this month’s PEP Talk, we will learn about child sexual abuse prevention and tips on how to keep kids safe in virtual and physical spaces. We will discuss how to respond to disclosures of abuse, learn about reporting options and talk about ways to support survivors. We will also get more information about Empower Yolo’s services and how to access their resources.

Compassion Project 2021-2023

The Compassion Project was a parent workshop series on adolescent mental health and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). DBT is a cognitive behavioral therapy that focuses on four skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotional regulation.
