In November 2018 the voters of Davis approved Measure M, a $150 million General Obligation Bond Measure designed to improve campus safety at schools, modernize science, technology, engineering, arts and math classrooms and labs, replace aging plumbing and electrical, improve school access for students with disabilities and inclusiveness for all students.

DJUSD is currently accepting applications for positions on the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.

Committee Responsibilities and Membership

In accordance with Education Code Section 15278(b), the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee shall:

  • Inform the public concerning the District's expenditure of Measure M bond proceeds
  • Review expenditure reports produced by the District to ensure that Measure M bond proceeds were expended only for the purposes set forth in Measure M; and
  • Present to the Board of Trustees in public session, an annual written report outlining their activities and conclusions regarding the expenditure of Measure M bond proceeds.

 DJUSD Administrative Regulation 7214 governs the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.

Committee members may not be an employee, official, vendor, contractor, or consultant of the District. All Committee members should plan to serve in an uncompensated capacity for a term of one or two years, and not exceeding three consecutive terms.

Committee Membership

According to Education Code 15282 and District regulations, the District's Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee shall consist of at least seven members, including, but not limited to: 

  1. One member active in a business organization representing the business community located within the District
  2. One member active in a senior citizens' organization
  3. One member active in a bona fide taxpayers' organization
  4. One member who is a parent/guardian of a district student
  5. One member who is a parent/guardian of a district student and is active in a parent‐teacher organization, such as the Parent Teacher Association or school site council
