Curriculum Adoptions

The Davis Joint Unified School District follows the state guidelines for curriculum adoptions cycles:
  • The California Department of Education releases new Frameworks/Standards. The Local Education Authority (District) conducts a review or analysis of the new Frameworks.
California releases approved list of programs.
  • The district discusses and develops/adopts its own set of criteria for program review.
State Board of Education approves the program(s).
  • The district reviews/evaluates materials for: (1) alignment to standards, (2) program organization, (3) assessment, (4) universal access, and (5) instructional planning support.
  • The district selects programs for piloting. The piloting process, being mindful of EC Section 60002 as quoted above, should also involve representatives of all populations in the district including, parents, administrators, English learner programs, and programs to support students with special needs.

Listed below are the board agenda items that include the presentations for each subject matter.
